I can remember
when these cuts ran red
but now they are fading
it's been long since they bled

Tiny white lines
etched in my skin
only I see them now
echoes of when

The cold crushing weight
of the world broke in me
and I carved out my heart
on my arm to be free

But it trapped me instead
in a iron cell
as I cried for release
from my self-built hell

Now I thought it was finished
but heart scars don't heal
so I'm coming full circle
and it's all back I feel

My memories warn me
this all has to stop
I'm preparing to try
more then ever I've fought

I guess this war isn't over
I only pray that I'll win
but at least I can wear
tee-shirts again
