She wanders through the sea of stars,
drowning in the silence,
asking questions, untold answers,
searching for reliance.

smiling hearts and blinded blue eyes
turn away from thunder outside.
hide under cotton sheets, stay with me awhile.
as innocence fades, so does your smile.
reality rains through shattered windows, but ignorance is bliss.
of all these things, what are you sure to miss?

calloused hearts and blank blue eyes
turn away from thunder outside.
stand beside me, hold my hand.
all grown up, but you don't understand:
reality collects in puddles deep enough to drown in.
now that we're done, can we begin?
