Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
-Marianne Williamson

When I needed you
You left me
You didn’t look back,
You didn’t come for me

I use to cry all the time
I’d cry a lot for you
But I’m a big girl now
I don’t need you

You didn’t make any more kids
So now you want me
But I don’t want you
Can’t you see?

You shouldn’t have left
But you did anyway
You didn’t care
That I cried almost everyday

I won’t cry anymore
Because you didn’t care
Or because you didn’t love me
Not even because you weren’t here

Don’t turn back now
Because you now want me
Just keep on going cuz
I’m a big girl now, daddy

you never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have

i can almost relate. my dad didn't leave me but he ignored me. now that i'm 18 he suddenly seems to care enough to give me hell every single day of my life. i grew up being afraid of him, but not anymore. wish the parents would see that nothing is alright. i set the limits pretty high but they push it more than it should be more and more. so sick and tired of playing nice
