Don't let the silly little things, steal your happiness.

Waking up at seven am

Getting ready for the big day

The day they put an IV in my hand

The day I wouldn't be able to play

Waking up at seven am

Getting my blanket and pillow

Scared to fall asleep again

I had to stay strong as a willow

Rolling into the big operating room

After all the ¨see ya later¨ hugs

Hoping it would be as quick as a zoom

Falling asleep from all the soft drugs

Waking up with all the blur

Looking at the big balloons

Seeing my family reoccur

With smiles and all their tunes

Thanking God for another day

Appreciating every small thing

Waiting for the twenty-fourth surgery day

And everyday worshiping

This piece is the feelings that I have everytime I have a surgery. Many people wonder what it is like being on the other side and now they have my perspective from that other side.
