Empty Space

As I sit all alone in this empty space
I softly begin to cry;
I wish I’d been warned of this hopeless race.

I think of the smiles that once crossed your face
and cant understand what happened and why,
as I sit alone in this empty space.

My heart begins to thud at a surreal pace.
Couldn’t you just try?
I wish I’d been warned of this hopeless race

where the harder I tried the harder the chase.
Was everything that we shared a lie?
As I sit alone in this empty space

Faded memories, both good and bad, will never be erased;
the thought that our journey has ended takes me down from that high.
I wish I’d been warned of this hopeless race.

Though my love for you can never be replaced
*We all have our choice to fly*
as I sit alone in this empty space
I wish I’d been warned of this hopeless race.
