You came back.

April 6, 2009

The morning sun rose high in the sky,
And there I was left to cry.
My angel went away with his divine fate.
Called away by gods jealous of our love.
Envious of its brilliant light.
Left alone I cried well into the night.

I cried for the world this night,
I cried with tears of blood.
Every drop landed on my pillow top,
and when my i raised my head to see,
in the mirror there was me,
two red trails ran down my cheeks.

I cried tears of the heart,
each sob killed me in a way.
every whimper cause my breath to cease,
And at the end,
the snow white sheets beneath me were left stained.

As the tears subsided,
I heard a bird in the distance,
sun warmed my face.
Out of the corner of my eye,
I saw you walk through my door,
a halo of light surrounded you
your hand touched my face.

I looked into your face,
And I saw your sudden fall from grace,
In your eyes and on your cheeks,
were the crimson streaks
that stained my own cheeks.

The author's comments:
Love and the circumstances around it are complex and perpetuql. I wanted to write something that showcased those situations and inevitablity of love.
