Life of a Liar

Consider the options,
Weigh both sides.
Contemplate failure,
Bide your time.
Make the world wait,
Think it through.
This last decision,
Will make or break you.
Hide from shadows
The sun presents.
Afraid of exposure,
Of those “inadequate.”
Disguised in sunglasses,
And foreign clothes.
Dressed as a different life,
But who will know?
Pass the people,
Who were once prominent,
Slip into the past,
Now incompetent.
Lock eyes in the mirror,
Study what you see.
Looking for yourself,
The life of a liar.
Is this who you want to be?
