I got another rejection letter today.
I put it in the folder
where I put all of the other
“I’m sorry we cannot use your piece”s.
It’s right between the thin manilla folders of awards,
prizes,
acceptance letters.
Maybe they’ll hide the bulging stomach of rejections slips,
or make me feel better about myself.
I try to make them look greater than they are,
the awards, that is.
I try to think I’ve won
that I will win
that the rejectors are wrong.
I probably shouldn’t save those slips.
I’ve thought of burning them,
throwing them out the window
one by one into the wind,
shooting them with a paintball gun.
I haven’t.
I watch them
waiting for the day those editors will
beg forgiveness
when my name is Money.
I wait for the day I can conquer my little slips of paper.
I can laugh in their face and say, “Ha! I told you I was worth something!”
That day is coming soon.
I know.
…Maybe.

I reallly like this poem, i know what it's like to go through the rejection of hard work, art pieces you've put your whole heart and soul into doing, just to have someone say it's not good enough. So keep your head up :) you'll make it someday, for your sake, i pray soon :)
