A Poet Writes On

Raging blue and
white fires
bitter heat
Hearts bleeding
black spilling on to
the page
Dancing across clouds
at night in a
3 A.M sky
Wounds cutting deep
exposing
unexpressed words
Silent tears
of loss and love that
only poetry knows
Colors of fall leaves
flowery spring, bright
summer skies and cold winters
Artistry with only
ink and paper
to create vibrancy
Observing every detail
thinking deeply of
how to convey it all
Transporting to another
world where the poet
is the brave one
