Moving Through the eyes of a Military Kid
She told us we were done
Moving and saying goodbye place after place was never fun.
The constant stream of tears
The tone of voice which foretold that the end of happiness here was near
Whether it was out of love or hands
The end result is what stands
As the fake promises of returning add up
Despair fills me from dawn till sun up

This is the constant pattern that military kids go through, if their parents are active duty. Although serving our country is a great honor, that does not necessarily mean that it does not come with its fair share of hardships. With this poem, I hope to shed some light on the hardships that come with being a military kid.
