Fear and pain surround me
Watching people as they flee
Sad to see so much loss
Like our lives are dependent on a coin toss.
How can we go to school without fears of being shot?
Parents losing children, and kids buying pot.
Where can we go to assure our life?
Where can we attend without so much strife?
Our world is creating so much violence
And some people still sit in silence.
You shouldn’t have to worry about losing a life at school,
All because one student may not be considered “cool.”

This poem is influenced by our world today and how many school shootings and threats there have been. I believe everyone should know they can speak up and share their thoughts on the topic. No one deserves the fear that is created with this threats.
