Let Me In

You see me in the hallway,
I walk alone.
Sometimes you offer a smile, a wave , or a simple "Hi".
And I smile back.
That smile's been waiting,
saved for you.
But we continue on our separate ways,
and I continue
to walk alone.

Let me into your life,
let me into your heart.
Help me feel welcome,
just make a start.
Because I want to be friends,
I want to be a part
of something bigger than just me,
but I'm falling apart,
apart at the seams.
It may be too late for me.

I try too hard,
I try too much,
But it seems like I'm not trying at all.
I'm so split up.
I feel like I belong everywhere,
and then no where at all
So what do I do?
There's no one time when I am me,
totally completely together.
I'm never in
one place all at once.
Can you pick up the pieces and put me together?
I'm like a puzzle,
Dying to be solved.
Please, please, please,
put me together!

Let me into your life,
let me into your heart.
Help me feel welcome,
just make a start.
Because I want to be friends,
I want to be a part
of something bigger than just me,
but I'm falling apart,
apart at the seams.
It may be too late for me.

You fixed me up and turned me loose,
yet I continue
to walk alone.

I love this. The "I'm falling apart, apart at the seams." stays in me head. It's amazing.
