Midnight River
Brightly shines the starlight glow
Of lightbulb-vine that climbs to grow.
Murders of crows have sat perched low
In the balcony branches of Skid Row.
Midnight Wind, sweep through the plain.
Midnight Sky, weep drops of rain.
Midnight Rain, sweep through the trees;
Midnight Sky of Heaven’s Seas.
Midnight River of Moonshine Home,
Carry my spirit where spirits will go.
Over dams of stick and stone,
Through barricades of mud and bone.
And when the levees are washed away,
Moonshine bright will light the way
For sunbeams to rise, jump, & run
In the golden glow of the dawning Sun.
Midnight River of Moonshine Home,
Carry my Spirit where Spirits go.
