Struck
three oh five a.m. we left, walked a lap or two
we returned ten minutes later at four a.m.
took off my shoe cause of my blister
the whole time I was laughing with you
but there we were
just us two
laughing about we still don’t know what
but it was funny with you
In the moment and drunk on that beautiful night
we were dancing in the pale moonlight
and haze of the streetlamp barely bright
surrounded us with a glow
the way your face surrounds that grin
to let that smile of yours show
that’s when I started to trip
I didn’t even realize at the time
six a.m. we left, and off to home we withdrew
then ten minutes passed and it was nine months later
the whole time I was laughing with you
