Ode to My Chapstick

Without you, I am not me!
Although small in size,
your significance to me is immense.
When I have no one else, I have you.
Your curved, round shape
and your lush, white surface.
As smooth as silk and as
soft as a cloud.
I need you every moment of the day.
But, the longer you are with me,
you begin to diminish until
there is nothing left of you
save for your empty, hollow, frame.
But in a few days, another one of
you appears, tall and full.
Oh Chapstick!
I am complete once again.
