Neighborhood music
Private!
The sign says,
Cars turning around,
The screech of their worn tires,
Going back up the street.
The buzz of the insects
Perched in the trees
The whistle
Of the wind
Going
Through the leaves
Of the trees
Dogs bark as a car
Passes by. House quiet.
No one around, but me
I’m alone in the dark night.
It is night,
And the sky is dark,
With stars surrounding the tops of the trees.
I’m on the roof waiting for themorning sun.
