A doormat

A doormat...
Useful, but not very used
Showing all the dirt of everyone who has passed,
but still saying welcome
Walked all over and never thought about.
Worn out over time, survived so many storms
Eventually replaced by something newer and better,
Thrown away and forgotten about
Until someone else picks it up.
The cycle continues and through it all, it still says welcome.
