A dream is smothered, and an idea shattered
You lie in a cold and desolate street
Young and battered

Your eyes show pain and sorrow
But you know it will probably be the same tomorrow
Why is the world so cruel, so hard
When all you have is that one single shard

Made of hope and forged of love
Signed with the picture of a dove,
From that moment on you learned to cope
You learned to forgive and you saw hope

Whether your rich, weak, weathered or poor
And you need an escape
Or you need a door
To flee your world of misery
To leave your place of pain
Or if your just feeling a little insane
Pray to the Lord and continue to grope
Towards the immortal word
Trust in the Lord
Trust in Hope
