I am from
I am from the swingset in the backyard that we tie a climbing rope to every summer.
from my small, blue trike and the chicken coop at my grandparents
I am from the oak tree with branches like ladder rungs
From the chilling feeling of getting snow down my back
I am from the young cacti forest by my grandma´s lawn
The ¨look-out tree¨ in the cow pasture
whose long gone limbs I remember
as if they were my own.
I’m from staying up all Christmas Eve and math skills
from Lilly and Drake
I’m from doing a pull up every time we go upstairs and chocolate muffins every sunday and from math competitions.
I’m from ¨don´t worry¨ and ¨be happy¨
and ¨if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all”
I’m from finding easter eggs in the same spot every year
I’m from a hospital and Sweden cinnadew bread and special k bars
From that time that my mom put really hot peppers in the fajitas because my dad forgot where to put his “Diablo dust”
I am from my tiny dog named Hugo
Who is probably on the couch right now.
I am what I am because of what I love.
