There aren’t many heroes in Jersey

See you standing there.
You disappear in thin air.
My hero is gone before I can say goodbye.
I reach out to catch you but It's useless to even try.
You slip through my fingertips

There aren't many heroes in Jersey.
You take one step in the city
This town reeks with failiure
It's almost too familiar.
Because there aren't many heroes in Jersey.

My dreams went down the drain.
With the clouds and the rain.
When you decided to leave.
I knew this wasn't just a tease.
That's why there aren't many heroes in Jersey.

The city is silent yet filled with sound.
My heart is empty and no where to be found.
You left us to get money
And make a living.
Now there aren't many heroes left in Jersey.

There aren't many heroes in Jersey.
You take one step in the city
This town reeks with failiure
It's almost too familiar.
Because there aren't many heroes in Jersey.

Smile for the camera that blinds you.
You blink and see your past in front of you.
Your a big shot now.
You crave the fame and the crowd.
There aren't any heroes in Jersey.

No, I said there aren't any heroes in Jersey.
Whispered slightly.
I had a hero
But he was poor and had to go
Do you think of me? Because I believe there are no heroes in Jersey
