Look Around
Look
Look at the people around you,
Warped with societies expectations.
Look in the mirror,
And tell me what you see.
Do you see beauty?
Or,
Something else to be surgically changed.
Do you see the outside or what is within?
Do you see past the fakeness?
Or do you give in.
Do you see a beautiful curvy lady?
Or someone who isn’t thin?
Do you see the Photoshop?
Or do you smooth your skin.
Look around,
Please.
Tell me what you see.

I wrote this poem a few years ago because I was done with societies expectations being pushed onto people. I recently found it while looking through my laptop and decided to publish it.
