The light summer breeze
And the harsh winds, of winter
How much they differ
The good man, and the bad man
They both balance, together
A light summer breeze is pleasant and takes on the role of good the harsh winds of winter are cold and they sting therefore they symbolize the bad. This tanka is about the balance of good and evil within a person and how much good and bad differ but at the end balance of being not a bad person nor a good person is achieved is achieved.
