Meeting You
Before he met you, he didn’t care.
Nothing could pierce his heart of stone.
The heartless warrior that he was
knew he deserved to always be alone.
No one could break through his mask of steel.
Not even his family or his closest friend.
An empty warrior he appeared to be,
who didn’t care when he would meet his end.
Then he met you, and it was like he woke up.
Cracks began to form in his facade.
His bottled up emotions began to show
and tore down the heartless warrior god.
It proved that his emptiness was just an act
to hide the emotions boiling up inside.
And his hardened heart hid just how soft he was.
You were the one who opened up his eyes.

This poem was inspired by a certain character that I read about in a book. I hope that this poem will make the reader think about the different masks people wear and the person they really are underneath that mask.
