The Waltons Homecoming on the tv
Eating ham and potatoes with glee
After the Christmas eve service
Going to bed very nervous

Waking up with christmas joy
Happy as a little boy
As we read Luke two
Videotaping all the way through

Opening presents we are thankful for
Sharing love more and more
We all love our mom and dad
Enjoying the cinnamon rolls we just had

The tree, the angel, the snowman, the star
The new year is not that far
We watch The Little House On the Prairie
Eating eggs and drinking dairy

We might not have a lot to see
With an artificial tree

Then to see a great surprise
That passed by our happy eyes
To remember a man that came to save us,hooray

So that we can all be here today
It started with a child’s birth
It ended with him leaving earth
Thankful for this little boy
Who brought the Magley’s Christmas joy

So that we may tell about this Godly man
Who came to earth to lend us a hand

The traditions of my family inspired me to write this piece, I hope people will understand the true meaning of Christmas through this poem, the birth of Jesus.
