ode to my mom
to the women that taught me right from wrong,
the one that taught me to sing a song,
taught me how to read a book,
showed me how to be a cook,
gave me confidence in who I am,
showed me not to give a damn,
my best friend in the world,
everytime my life was swirled,
when it looked like there was nowhere to run,
you would hear her say come here, hun,
the things she knows,
the love she shows,
she made me,
and she will always be,
the most important woman in my life.
