A Spark in the Dark
So much…
Chaos!
They’re running for their
lives. Hundreds could be dead
or injured! How…
Horrible!
How could this happen!
Why would people do this, these kids,
students,
teachers, visitors. There all…
Innocent!
People die. Their lives ended for
The oddest of reasons.
It was terrifing, my friends, people I
Knew… DEAD!
I know your friends and others
lived. I just know it!
No you don’t! You weren’t there!
I saw the blood shed!
I felt the pressense of fear!
I sout my courage to push through
to only be left alone!
A lonely spark in the dark, with
someone trying to put it out.
Well they failed, your spark
shines bright. Maybe even brighter
than before. Because you know that you
proved these people of “evil” wrong.
You told them, I lived… You couldn’t
put out this spark, for I shall brighten
my path.
No! You’ll never know!
How my life changed!
I thought there was no
hope for me.
There is hope. Look around…
All these people came to help you,
the people who saw and felt the events as
it happened. Don’t you see you're not just
a lonely spark, for behind you is a sky
full of stars to help you… To brighten
the room… For they are now a lonely
shadow in the light.

What inspired me was in 7th grade i had this project that we did. and so we had to write a two person poem, about a African refugee in a camp and a person who only knows the issue through the media. I hope people to get the feel of what it could be like, the panic, sadness, and frustration.
