Turquoise Mermaid

Deep beneath the cobalt waves
Inside a cave nestled in the sea
Lies the gem to all my troubles
A Turquoise mermaid, waiting there for me

She makes it hard for me to find her
Plays a game of hide and seek
She’s out of reach and I’m in darkness
Tensions high, emotions weak

Now I’m lost inside my head
Yearning for her presence near
I come to see I cannot have her
A fantasy I came to fear

The time is wrong for her as mine
But I needn’t be afraid
For fate has told me I will have her
My precious turquoise mermaid
