11:59
Those final moments, those final minutes
Her heart is racing, her head is pounding
Too many “I done did-its”
The pressure, bounding
“This is it”
She says
“One last time”
She prays
Lock and loaded
Ready for her to push
Not ready for the ambush
Her worries eroded
Tick-tock
Click-clack
The seconds counting down on the clock
The fingers tapping on the Mac
Just before midnight
Before the zero reaches
With all her might
She slams the ENTER button, speechless

With many teachers preferring work and/or class being done with technology, there are not many excuses students can use anymore. When they set a due date, it usually cuts off at 11:59 PM prior the day it's due. Most students will procrastincate and not get it done beforehand (me being one of them) and usually will stress about it as hours pass and it's down by the minutes or seconds. This poem delves into one's perspective and the stress they feel as they run out of time.
