One blank page
One yellow pencil
Worn down to a stub

What will become of them?
A story about a man who loved a woman
A doodle sketched in class
A poem for only one’s eyes
Two names bound together by a symmetrical heart
An essay due next period
A passionate diary entry
The portrait of the teacher
Giving a lecture
As you sit
And decide
What to do with
One yellow pencil and
One blank page
