I Am The Reason

I am the silence,
the un-embraced darkness,
the chills that make you tense,
the never-ending mess.
I am the shadow
Of a person who has gone,
The person who you’d always miss
A person who you’d die to kiss.
I am the sanctuary,
To the people who never sleep,
I sit awake at night,
And hold them while they weep.
I am the expectation,
The feeling of regret,
Its hard to take when you know you settled,
For the littlest you could get
I am the fear,
The monster in the night,
The wolf, the bear, the lion,
I have you in my sight.
I am the smile,
That swept across your face,
The day I said “ I loved you”,
your heart began to race.
I am the tears,
That throw you in to drown,
They leave you underwater,
And then they leave the town.
I am the embrace,
Of death in the worst way,
I hit you like a train,
And never go away.
I am the scars, the consequences of a deal,
The day you sold your soul,
They vowed to never heal.
I am the regret,
That strikes you everyday,
The memory of messing up,
Does it ever go away?
I am love,
The sweeping feel of delight,
The hugs, the kisses,
The need to be held tight.
I am the fire,
The heat that doesn’t die,
It swells inside, it turns the tide,
It eats away your sky.
I am the corruption,
The wrong turn in life,
The things that make you twist inside,
The everlasting strife.
I am the hate,
The gentle, searing pain,
It takes your heart and spits it out,
And turns your sun to rain.
I am the sound,
The ring that never stays long,
The yells, the screams, the words you won’t repeat,
I turn them into song.
I am the star,
Glowing brightly in the sky,
I look down on you forever,
And make you wonder why?
I am the moon,
My sight at day I lack,
I come and play at night,
And then It all goes black.
I am the sight,
The vision of a new day,
The start of something new,
The words you couldn’t say.
I am the reason,
The reason for all that lives,
The feelings that take over,
Its all that I can give.
I’ve met a lot of people,
All with reasons of their own,
But all these feelings put together,
Is the best I’ve ever known

I loved this poem. It flowed very, very well. I also like that it didn't seem to work itself around the rhyming. Great job!
