This casting is but a breeze.
You know exactly what you must say
Oh, how romantic.
You would do that?
That takes my breath away.
Your sweet nothings,
Your flawless lies--
They only led to their own demise.
For a smile can not be held forever,
Suddenly perfection ceased to sound so clever.
Your ideal answers triggered more questions,
These, I suggest you simmer on,
For Shakespeare himself couldn’t help you respond.
In you, a being, I never saw
Though thoughtful and romantic,
Perfection was yet your flaw.
You better my countenance
As I devour the compliments,
But these lines, they’re not yours to feed.
You’re an actor much too focused,
Infamous only means hopeless
For this role, you deserve not the lead.
Though your delivery, so pleasing to the ear,
I’ve been longing to hear your thoughts
Not what you thought I longed to hear.
“What light through yonder window breaks,
It is the east”….
You tell me that I am the Sun,
But I must confess,
I’ve never been a Capulet.
For you, the perfect Romeo,
Have mistakened me as your Juliet.
