My hero
Gunshots ring through the flight
Slashing through the cries for help
Slaughtering the silence of the night
People scream "War is not right"
And "bring my baby home safley tonight."
Men women mothers fathers
All fighting for one goal
To see the dawn of freedom ring
Throughout this flightless toal.
Many people don't understand
How it hurts us so
To see those anti-war signs and cries for peace
Held in and above the stands.
Those ignorent enough
To wish for our soldiers deaths.
Those foolish enough
To wish above the rest.
I pray for you
Not just now and then,
For you to see the sacrifice within.
Leaving families, hopes soar high
Newborn children, never to cry.
So I pray for you
To rethink this through
And give those who save our freedom
The respect that they've earned
And let them know that they are above the rest.
