Oh significant other,
How I wish you would have known.
But how could you have for I never spoke my feelings and kept them as my own.
The feelings that bundled in my soul like a caterpillar in it’s cocoon.
How could you have known I wasn’t happy with what we had?
How could you have known the relationship always left me sad?
I focused on your happiness rather than my own,
I let you walk on me like a carpet that said “welcome to our home”.
Little did we both know, I would eventually burst,
Unable to hold my feelings in about my decreasing self-worth.
So we broke things off and my heart broke too,
But that’s when I started to discover my own value.
Like a caterpillar, I did come back to life,
Even though I thought my world was over and ended in strife.
I survived and I’m doing well now,
Thanks to you, i finally figured myself out.

A girl who found herself without a person like you.
