Dear Ex-Best Friend
I’m sorry
that I abandoned you,
but you
abandoned me first.
You abandoned me
when I passed out in front of you,
when I started talking to someone new,
and in every conversation we had
you would find something that made you mad.
I know your health is in jeopardy
but mine would be too
if I continued on in this friendship
and allowed you to turn my heart blue.
You only cared about what I gave you,
not about my well-being.
You would take my money,
but not for any real meaning.
But it’s okay
you can go with your new friends.
I have new ones, too
and these friends are truer than you.
