I am clear and ever-changing. You can see right through me.
I will show you the world, the sun and the snow.
Through me you can see all the places you could go.
I will protect you, for I am a barrier between you and the outside.
Day by day, I do my job. I stand in my position and show you the world
and remind you to grab a scarf, for the leaves outside are constantly swirled.
I will show you the world, rain or shine.
Summer, fall, winter, and then spring -
Raise me up and I will let you hear the birds sing.
But every day the time will come when I am not needed.
And at this time, between you and the world I will not stand,
for there is always a time to experience the world firsthand.

This was a school assignment in which we had to write a poem similar to Sylvia Plath's "Mirror"
