These have I loved

These have I loved: going to the mall to spend all my money;
Laughing until tears came down;
Watching movies;
The birds chirping; my mothers voice in times of need;
Feeling appreciated;
The breeze from the lake front;
Walking around downtown Chicago;
Being accepted;
Being at home;
Listening to Music;
Poetry.

When summer comes:

When summer comes
like a carnation having blossomed;
When summer comes and we soon realize old friends are no longer returning in fall

When summer comes
like child birth,
When summer comes
like it was missing in action for 10 years,
I want to enjoy the warm weather and forget all former troubles;

And therefore I look upon everything
As if I have never seen such beauty before,
And I am grateful,
And I am glad to be back at home,
And I think of each insect as the seasons; beginning to emerge
as the weather does in each season.

And each buzz and chirp hits me like the bang of a drum.

When it’s over, I want to say; this was the best summer ever.
I was the joyful child playing in the sand.
I was reborn like a criminal who was just baptized.

When it’s over, I don’t want to think about what I could have done.

I don’t want to regret my experiences.
Or forget the good times.
I don’t want to end up wasting my time.
