A birthday card with a smiling monkey is
all I have to show for us.
You claimed the whole backside of it for
sharing the parts of me you love.
All I have to show for us
are words stuck in a phone,
sharing the parts of us we love.
What does something you can’t hold mean?
Our words are stuck in
two thousand miles---
What does something you can’t hold mean?
I can’t touch you either but it doesn’t matter.
Two thousand miles---
soon I will add a few hundred more to that.
I can’t touch you either but it doesn’t matter.
A birthday card with a smiling monkey is all.
