Going back and forth in a pool full of water
I am out of breath
I push, pull and kick
I become exhausted
But I know I need to keep going
I cannot give up
I canntnot disappoint all the people in the stands
I can barely hear the cheer as my head pops out of the water for a breath
I keep swimming
I hear the blow of the gun
It is the last lap
This is what it comes down to
Time to give it your best
Time to give all your energy
I sprint
Faster, and faster I go
I feel the pain
I cannot give up, not now i say
I begin to see the wall
I am almost there
Then i hit it, the clock finally stops
Suprised i did not fly through the wall
I struggle to get out
And all i can just hear, is the loud cheer
I broke the school record
I got first, I was the best.
