I saw a man cheer with his hands
Hoot and holler I did until ―
Wait
It means nothing to him.
And I watched the crowd
Mouths open wide like chicks
And a man’s face just as intense
With closed lips and open hands
And never have I seen a world so silent
As in that crazy gym.
