tragedy
The girl with the black leather jacket
Who walked in the white with feet bare
She stepped towards the cold blue waters
But walked on without a care.
She went deeper and deeper, but stared off into the distance
At the stones along the bank
She stepped onto the thin ice
And then, she sank
Into the cold, enveloping cold.
She remembered the days of old.
She sank to the bottom to greet her parents.
On the anniversary of that dreaded day.
But her chains, the chains of memories clung
And stung to that very day.
Her thoughts were held inside
And her feelings, unexposed
While she dreamt by the sea where her parents lay.
Her sadness shows.
