My Scars
I want myself to be silent today
and let my scars tell the story
of the battle, the race
and my unsuitable pace
of all the fluctuations of my journey
how the environment pushed me onto a gurney
how afraid I was to be pitied about
and what if my frailty was found out
and I want them to shout out to the One
who made my weaknesses visible to none.
