in the rain
Broken promises
I'm an idiot, aren't I?
For falling in love, for falling so fast
Written in pencil
I gave you my love, but now
You just keep erasing
It was some twisted game of chess
The prize?
My heart.
And you had me caught in checkmate
Lost and later found
The rough seas have settled
Once lost at sea, now back home
I hold it tightly
Umbrella in hand
You smile in the rain, waving
"Farewell," I call back
and my tears disappear in the rain
