Perfect Prom
Perfect Prom
At last, this moment in time, is here
Prom night in my senior year
At the salon, styling my hair, now like a superstars
My makeovers with friends, while choosing our corsages
Tonight is the night
After waiting my whole life
I'm walking down those steps, as my boyfriend stares
Mother's taking pictures, father starts to glare
Wearing a black belt, on a white dress
Two white roses on my wrist
My date, in a black and white suit
As always, both of us looking good
Now it's time to leave; it's at last the time to have the best night of our lives
Arriving at prom with friends, looking our very best
Rushing to the dance floor; hitting up those moves; let the music be our guide
It's our last chance to do our dance; so can I have this dance?
Now take my hand, take a step, and pull me close
Keep your loving eyes locked on mine
I had the time of my life, and I hope you did too
It was my one and only prom night, it is the memory that will last my whole life
It was the best date I can ever have, and the most perfect prom was mine
