I have few stories to tell,
So I’ll tell those few well.
It all began on a cold autumn night,
Everything felt just right.
I was with my sister and dad,
Our bonfire was blazing mad.
It burned with a beautiful red light,
It was so high up I thought it might take flight!
When my dad poked the fire,
A spark flew into the grass, but we here none the wiser.
Suddenly the grass we thought to be dead,
Was burning a hot red!
Luckily the fire didn’t spread,
My sister swore we’d all be dead.
My dad grabbed the hose and put it out.
My mom came running outside with a shout,
“Is everyone alright ?!”
“Yes,” my dad said, “but I think we’re done with fires for the night.”
