I know it’s not easy, but please fall apart.
You take on so much, storing it all in your heart.
It takes courage but I promise I’m here.
Just fall apart, there is no reason to fear.
You take on so much, storing it in your heart.
But we will paste you back together with glue make of gold.
Just fall apart, there is no reason to fear.
Just three easy steps, they are all quite clear.
But we will paste you back together with glue make of gold.
We all do this at some point is what I was told.
Just three easy steps, they are all quite clear.
It’s quite plain and simple, just do it my dear.

We all were born broken. Admitting that is the hard part.
It takes courage but I promise I’m here.
This is the beginning the place where you start. So,
I know it’s not easy, but please fall apart.

Ateret is a high student, living in Boulder Colorado. She enjoys volunteering with the network Direct Action Everywhere and at her local animal sanctuary. The piece "Pretty Please" was inspired by the the pressure the world places on young teens to appear put together. In the future she plans to continue to expand her writing to include songs (like her previously written piece Scarlett’s Song) and scripts to send her message “that all animals deserve freedom” to the world.
