Ouch!
Pain
The feeling of dropping down a black drain
The feeling of losing everything you gain
The feeling of suffocation in an icy chain
Where the metal rips into your flesh the more you strain
Pain creates tears
Tears
Droplets that trickle pure silver onto hardened cheeks to drown all fears
Droplets that block out the disheartening sneers
Droplets that revive the sharp jabbing of spears
Only to help you move on as the pain disappears
Tears bring relief
Relief
The feeling of drying tears - those little drops of grief
The feeling of your mother’s embrace pervading warmth and belief
The feeling of merriment after sorrow, although brief
For next thing you must do is morph into a new leaf
Relief does not cure scars
Scars
Marks that emphasize that you are among the imperfect stars
Marks that teach you how to never again rot behind bars
Marks that decide your deeds like spiteful czars
And so like a stain
Hauntingly remains
The memory of the pain
