A school swam through the deep blue sea

By , Cambridge, MA

A school swam through the deep blue sea
Chased by a gaping maw,
Swerving ‘round a coral reef
No time to hem and haw.

Many a shift in the water’s drift
Might be traced to that pursuit,
But who could know, in the ceaseless flow,
An occurrence so minute?
