An Empty Room
There lies an empty bed vacant and still
Clean floor and desk cleared not a common sight
A constant reminder, dreams to fulfill
I recall legos a perilous swill
All day we played with them into the night
There lies an empty bed vacant and still
The toy cars on a track racing downhill
Lie buried deep in a box sealed up tight
A constant reminder, dreams to fulfill
There was laughter and music late until
We told them bed time now, turn off the light
There lies an empty bed vacant and still
Alone as I am, an afternoon to chill
By myself again the increasing rite
A constant reminder, dreams to fulfill
Two children together had such a thrill
I cradle our time together for right
There lies an empty bed vacant and still
A constant reminder, dreams to fulfill
