Autumn's End
Of summer you must mark the end
Humid and hot beyond all reason.
After you, around the bend
Follows the frigid-cold, white season.
You send the leaves scampering round my head
The air turns chilly, the weather colder
The leaves fall down orange and red
Each day is time that we grow older.
The sky turns gray and winter draws near
The geese fly, as the wind turns brisk
The signs of autumn's end are all here
The sun isn't warm and the air is crisp.
Our tears are the leaves, falling to the ground
But the seasons keep going, around and around.
