Her Smiles
She spends time with her best friends
She tells them everything
But they truly know nothing
She imagines herself a doll
Her smiles painted on
Her giggles triggered by the pulling of a string
Inside she worries about the future ahead
Her undefined dreams burden her porcelain shoulders
How long could she take this?
Behind those trendy and expensive clothes
She is self-conscious and insecure
Her body would never be perfect
They all call her the perky one
She is always there to keep them up as they fall
But could they ever do the same for her
If she ever showed her weakness or her fears
How would they react?
Would they still love her?
For tonight she will just obey to the description on her box
Remain that doll that every little girl snuggles with to feel better
This is the only form of herself she has ever known
For now she would have to forget
Just smile and have a good time like they've always expected of her
Maybe tomorrow she'll show them the other side
Maybe the next day
But deep down
She knows that the truth
She will never be able to break out of this cradle
This place of security and warmth has cushioned her and always will
It's an amazing poem written by an amazing person!!
